The Green Isle of the Great Deep
Published in Hardcover by Walker & Co (March, 1995)
Average review score:

hard para christian socialist morality Mugeridge not ShawThis is simply an all time great novel. It has that which is required, that which is optional and that which I did not know could be written. Gunn has created a reality that neither needs nor demands disbelief from any one who has any religious knowledge - and yet creates a god who is acceptable to all faiths.
Leviathan meets GBS meets Inshalla'h
To me this is a vastly underated seminal work (and when you have read it you too can find that description totally inappropriate.)
When you read it, read it contemporaneously. Look at the published date of the first edition and then wonder... and wonder...
And enjoy.
And if you did - email me: proselytising is bl**dy hard work and deserves reward Simon

Wonderful tool for moms to use with their daughters! Great!Growing Little Women is a great tool for Christian moms to use with their daughters. The best age to use this book is for girls from nine to twelve. The author gives practical insight as to how she mentored her two daughters. There are sixteen practical chapters, each taking a subject that allows mom and daughter to openly discuss. There are also fun activities at the end of each chapter. Chapter 16 allows moms to write their own story for their daughter. This is a great tool to allow moms to impart their lives and beliefs.

Guide to the Coastal Marine Fishes of Californa #4065
Published in Paperback by UC Regents (June, 1976)
Average review score:

Comprehensive, Accurate, HelpfulAn essential guidebook for California marine studies, covering immediate coastal-littoral to coastal deep-water Isaac's Kid level fishes. While working on a research ship in SoCal we constantly referred to this text- it's inexpensive, so there is little concern from salt-water damage; yet it is also highly accurate and systematic in it's coverage of marine fishes. Though the lack of color can hinder identification on occasion, the key identification features make up for any confusion. The text follows a scientific dichotomous key which allows for identification and comparison of closely-related fishes- helpful when trying to identify just what species you might be holding at the moment- and if it might be poisoness or not. Extremely useful for those of a scientific bent, with it's use of teminology and scientific nomenclature, it is also usable by the layman because of th eintricate drawings and clear, concise information.
